Turkey Anyone?

I haven't posted for some time now.  Life has been busy and interesting.  I am currently working on a giant gourd and will post the image of it as soon as it's done.  In the meantime:

My daughter, Kelsey, is going off to Adana, Turkey to teach English.  I am excited and anxious about her being so far away for a year.  I will be going to visit her, of course.  There are gourd artists in Turkey and I am looking forward to seeing some of their work.  I have seen gourd lamps online and they are beautiful.  Hopefully, I will bring one home with me.  I am certain I will learn some fascinating things about Turkey through Kelsey.  I am also very proud that she is so adventurous and open to new cultures.

Will blog more at a later time.

Best wishes to all who read this.

New Album on FB

This is such a fabulous learning experience!  I have just updated my FB with a new album which includes the gourds you have seen here and more.  Please go to
FB under Cynthia Riemer - Mustard Seed Musings and check it out.  It's raining cats and dogs here so I think it is a great day to stay indoors and "do" some
art.  Have a wonderful holiday season.  Best Wishes.

Just made a new Facebook Page!

Well, I have to admit that all this internet linking, etc. is new to me and I am not quick with it at all! Thank goodness I have young adult children who can help me...I have linked the fb page with this blog and I am going to attempt to link it backwards as well.  Anyway, I have just finished creating an album on the
fb.  There is a separate page, Mustard Seed Musings, Gourd Art, attached to it. Check it out.  Just go to www.facebook.com and search for Cynthia Riemer (Mustard Seed Musings).

Here are a couple more gourds recently finished.

No Black Friday for Me

I had actually contemplated going out in the wee hours of the morning to shop at some of the Black
Friday Sales.  But my good old common sense came into play and I slept.  I am grateful for  that.  Instead I spent the day making cookies and working on gourds.  Glorious Gourds.  Oh, and I managed to squeeze
in giving Nancy, my bull terrier mix, a bath.  She loved it.  I am going to attach to this post some more pictures of some of my gourds.  Enjoy.

First Time

This is my first personal blog ever.  I am a bit intimidated but feel confident that I will overcome this feeling.  I hadn't really intended to start a blog, but the opportunity presented itself and I thought "why not?"  My son, Sam, actually suggested I start a blog to promote my Gourd Art.  So, here I am, sort of a "happy accident".  I initially was responding to my friend, Lisette, who is in Cambodia on a traveling medical mission.  In order to post on her blog I needed to sign in.....and there you have it.  Just trying to go with the flow.

Since this is all new to me I figure I will just stumble along and learn as I go.  Perhaps I will post some
pictures of my work in the near future.  Have to get all the wrinkles ironed out.  That's it.

Hello!
